I'm a self taught sculptress.
Concepts are everything to me. When I get a concept in my mind, I can pretty much see the finished piece in my minds eye. There are times when I feel I may have bitten off more than I can chew, and it would be wise to jump ship, but I don't ! I push thorough the tears, minor swear words, and anxiety, until I finally feel that rush of gratification when a piece is finished. Attention to detaili is very important to me, but it can become on obsession. I sometimes think being so monomaniacal can be a curse not a blessing.
I take anatomy very seriously. My creations more often than not will have long limbs if they are standing, as it creates impact and a stronger presence.
The costuming, especially on my Celtic female warriors, and mythological Goddessess involve a great deal of detailing and layering. Since this is a hobby I am able to focus on the costuming for as long at it takes to work on the piece. My sculptures give me purpose in an ever so tumultuous and disturbing World.
Nature plays a huge part in my creations, whether its part of the theme itself, or the wood I chose for the base. I trudge the forests and the secluded beach at my back gate, searching for the perfect piece for each creation. I also sometimes incorporate pressed leaves, flowers, feathers and other natural things I find.
Being as one with nature is so very important to me, and I put time aside every day to connect with it, even if its just in a small way, its still magic to me.
I pride myself on originality. All my ideas/concepts derive from the depths of my ever so active sometimes disturbed imagination.
I sometimes incorporate lighting into my pieces, having learned how to wire lighting to a switch myself one day by taking a toy apart. I do love the engineering side, it appeals to me greatly, and I always swear by my own saying "there is no such word as can't "
I love artistic photography of all kinds, and have recently been doing some photography of my own. Being in the company of ingenious, interesting, fiercely driven, passionate, talented and eccentric people, inspires me and fire all my senses.
I'm interested in the paranormal, and also in extraordinary inventions. People from another time and dimension fascinate me. I actually feel I'm not from this time myself, and feel uneasy and out of place most of the time. I'm intrigued by the unexplained and people who can, cant and try to explain it!
I quite often curse the time keeper, and his wife !

*** NEW MORRIGAN ***
It is true that many people see the Morrigan only as a dark force. A goddess of battle and war, however there are other aspects to her nature. As well as her revelling in slaughter we see a goddess of strength, swiftly adapting to circumstance. She can be a battle crow in one moment, a loving nurturing mother in the next. It is written that Danu (the Irish Mother Goddess Of The Earth) and the Morrigan are connected by mythology. The Morrigan who after sleeping with Danu’s son, Dagda, (the most prominent of Gods) , was impregnated at Samhain and produced the universal egg (the shaman’s egg) whilst she was in the form of a crow.
This magic egg is made from quarts crystal (the ultimate metaphysical crystal ) It is a part of the earth and contains all the powers of the Universe.
Although Samhain (Halloween) is the most sacred time of year for the Morrigan, Ostara or the Vernal Equinox (Easter) is also of great significance because of the awakening of Mother Earth.
The universal egg lies in the crows nest with other ordinary crow eggs and is protected by the Goddess herself. The egg contains all the knowledge and wisdom of the ages, it can be used for astro travel, protection from dark forces and most of all is a master healer with the strength to face insurmountable odds.
